Hi David, thanks for checking in. Yes, I agree about your comment. Especially when one knows some practices that are common in the industry... Buyers had better be careful.

I couldn't agree more with what you're saying here. But let me put into context what I mean by "day-wage hirelings" before it's completely misunderstood.

First, I'm in absolute agreement that your 3PQ should be independent and not connected in any way to the factory. But independent does not mean apathetic. I consider "day-wage hirelings" to be the epitome of careless, check-off-the-boxes kind of worker.

Second, 3PQ can be, like people in any industry, just mailing it in on some days. If you're paying for a check on a large order and it's the last step before paying a ton of money to ship product--this is NOT what you want. This is bad service, and that's what I suggest that people look out for when they hire 3PQ. Find companies with good track records and get referrals.

Finally, I think that everyone should be hiring 3PQ--I'm not in any way trying to discourage it. But like any other service that you can't personally vouch for and will never actually see (since you're thousands of miles away) you'd better careful and wise in your selections of service providers.
